Something Old...

Something New...

Something Borrowed...

Something Blue....

Last week I was delighted to document a family legacy that has now reached its third generation.

In 1965, Eileen Cremer created this wedding dress with her very own hands in the anticipation of her upcoming January 30 wedding day. With each stitch and seam, she dreamt of the years to come, and what possibilities they had in store.

Among the dreams to become a reality was the gift of her daughter, Lisa Berendzen, who lovingly wore her mother's wedding dress on June 18, 1994. A few alterations were made to the dress to to meet her current and personal style. Alterations were made by her friend's sister , and the addition of a new veil found at Herman's in Jefferson City completed the look.

Last weekend, on June 20, 2020, Lisa's Daughter walked down the aisle and said "I do" in that very same gown, carrying with her the love and blessings of the two women who wore it before her. Sarah's alterations brought the gown back a bit closer to its original using the original bodice and inset of lace on the sleeves that her mother had added. Maria Bish is the talented seamstress that brought this vision to reality.

Sarah is the third generation to wear a wedding gown fashioned by her grandmother's hands in 1965.

It was an honor to be included in documenting this legacy for Eileen, Lisa, and Sarah.

Best wishes to the Bride and Groom for a life full of love and laughter.
