The Focus on Emotion Project is the marriage of dance photography and fundraising for the Rape and Abuse Crisis Service (RACS) in Central Missouri. The first year was a wild success, photographing 42 dancers and wrapping up in a gallery show held at the Capitol City Cinema in Downtown Jefferson City.

Funds raised for RACS are earmarked for mental health and counseling services for survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, abuse and stalking. RACS serves nine counties in Central Missouri.

Dance sessions are offered at my home studio, or via group sessions (3-4 dancers in a 3-hour block) hosted by dance studios. 

Each participant pays a $150 fee, and will receive the session, a $250 credit to be used toward purchase of photographic product collection or album (no purchase required), and will be gifted the print chosen to be on display at the Gallery Show in June 2026. these prints are generously donated by Bee Seen Signs.

Currently, we have two group sessions scheduled. Links to register are below. Please keep in mind that each group session is limited to 4 dancers. If your studio is interested in hosting a group session, they will be listed as an event sponsor.
